Backtesting
Learn chart structures, trends, support and resistance, candlesticks and technical indicators.
Backtesting
A backtest applies fixed rules to historical observations. Include costs, execution assumptions and realistic available data. Look-ahead bias, overfitting and survivor bias can inflate results; historical performance does not assure future outcomes.
Example
Keep a separate test period after choosing parameters on a training period.
